Obituary of Joyce A. Buffamonte

Joyce Buffamonte, age 74 of Halfmoon, New York passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 2, 2021. Born on September 26, 1946 in the Bronx and raised in Ramsey, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late Vincent “Jimmy” and Mary Buffamonte. She was predeceased by her sister Rosemary Buffamonte. She is survived by her lifelong partner Joseph LaPorta, daughter’s Lisa Bruchac, Denise (Robert) Leary, and Tricia (David) Plagenza, Joe’s daughters; Linda (Murphy) Reynolds, Laura (Don) Murley, Lisa LaPorta, and her sister Joni Conklin. She is also survived by her grandchildren Lauren Leary, Olivia Leary, Julia Leary, Ava Bruchac, and Joe’s grandchildren; Anthony (James Poindexter) Killimet, Jake Reynolds, and Grandpuppy’s Petey & Benny along with many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joyce dedicated her life to raising her three daughters. She cherished her grandchildren and the special bond she had with each of them. She was loved by so many that viewed her as their second mother. She loved “Gravy” on Sunday’s while spending time with family. She enjoyed traveling, and making lifetime friends with the people whose souls she touched. Joyce was always there for everyone. She had a passion for learning her ancestry and connecting with her cousins in the U.S. and in Italy. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 6th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Route 9, in Clifton Park, with a Funeral Mass on Friday, May 7th at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2001 Route 9 Round Lake, NY 12151. The Mass can be livestreamed by visiting the Corpus Christi Facebook page, www.facebook.com/corpuschristichurchny/ In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Joyce to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
