Stosh (Nick Stanley) lit a candle

Paul played such a large role in my life and countless others. Too many stories to count, but the highlights are worth noting. First things first, he gave me my nickname that grew into my identity, there are a good amount of people that ONLY know me as Stosh and don't know my first name. That is largely due to most of my childhood friends I met through Mike, but also when he acknowledged you people took notice. It stuck like glue and I was happy it did. It felt special and unique and that was one of the things Paul was best at. He was a natural with the gift of gab, but he had a way of making ya feel welcome and special. Like part of the family, I spent plenty of nights at the Monasts and never once did I feel out of place. He was a character larger than life, we used to call him the Mayer of everywhere, cause it seemed as if he knew someone know matter where we were. And man would he be everywhere, like at every turn of a CC race. I swear he was faster than me because hed beat me to every turn and be there cheering us on, despite his Stewarts Choclate Ice cream addiction. But it never surprised me that your dad could kick my as in a race, I don't think I ever saw him sit down unless it was to eat or sleep. If he wasn't working he'd have a project he'd be working on and always smiling to do it. Your dad taught me a lot, and always treated me like family, I'll always be thankful for that. I loved him alot and I'll miss him alot.

My heart is saddened to hear of the loss of Paul Monast, one of the sweetest men I've known. I remember spending the week at Cape Cod beach with his daughter Caitlin, as we were close friends as we grew up. Mr. and Mrs. Monast were were so generous to invite me along as part of their family vacation. Mr. Monast was always smiling, laughing and making jokes. His kind, sweet, and joyous goofing around energy was always contagious to be around. The way he loved his family and genuinely cared for everyone is what I remember the most. Even in the littlest of things, he was always thinking of others and how he could care for them. His beautiful presence will be missed but his smile and heart will never be forgotten.
