I had the privilege of being Alane's high school choral director at Shenendehowa, and was one of the co-directors of the musical "Brigadoon," which we performed in 1971, and in which, she played/sang the role of Fiona MacLaren. Alane performed like a professional, and needless to say, she brought the house down. I can still see her taking her curtain bows, holding her bouquet of flowers. Alane and I (and Barbara) have remained good friends. I will continue to treasure the memories that we shared. I am sure she is now a member of the chorus of angels in heaven. God bless her soul!

Alane and I sang together at Shenendehowa High School 1970-71.. We stood next to each other in performances and when we weren't singing, we were laughing. I loved her sense of humor and wit. It was a time before cell phones and selfies, so I have no photographs to share, but I will never forget her, and her wonderful smile.

Last night at the weekly pan-Celtic music session at the Parting Glass I announced to the 20 or so musicians Lanie’s passing & we dedicated her favorite tune ‘The Rakes of Mallo’ to her. It’s a rousing piece & the main background theme in the movie : The Quiet Man.

Lanie 1st came to my photography studio as a customer & in a very short time became a treasured friend. Her enthusiasm of wanting to learn how to improve her photographic techniques was wonderful. Lanie became one of my best students.
During Ballston Spa’s Bicentennial in 2007 it was a pleasure capturing her portrait with my over hundred year old 8x10 studio portrait camera in a period gown that her sister Barb had made. Lanie made it to all the festivities during the celebrations including afternoon tea at Brookside Museum’s gardens.
Varied musical tastes from the Racing City Barbershop concerts to the Celtic music sessions at the Parting Glass, Carney’s in Ballston Lake & many other locations.
We miss your company Lanie. Thanks for enriching us all. Michael Noonan

Dear Lanie or as she was so fondly known in our household Auntie Lanie who loved and was greatly adored not just by us ( Michael and Maeve) but our girl Mabh a 90 lb. Lab- hound mix who would dance for Lanie ( who was much more a cat person) but Mabh could always count on Lanie as we could too. And oh Lanie going to music sessions just isn’t the same without you! Love always Maeve and Michael Noonan

This beautiful picture says it all ❤️this is exactly how we will remember Lanie! She graciously opened her house over the many years to so many fun events. Lanie made many long journeys to our houses to reciprocate. You will be forever missed dear friend.

Our heartfelt condolences to Lanie's family. We had the pleasure of meeting her many, many years ago and working with her in the Lewis Building at the Saratoga County Fair. We enjoyed having her at our home on a few Christmas Eves she spent with our family. Her smile and enthusiasm for life will be missed. We'll be keeping her and her family in our thoughts and prayers. - Tammy & Tony Ballestero
