James V. Picard of Ballston Lake James V. Picard, Age 60, passed away suddenly, Saturday October 14, 2023, at Albany Medical Center. James (Jim) was born in Fredericksburg, VA to Ann P. Picard and the late Howard R. Picard, moving to Clifton Park, NY in 1969. Jim had retired from the SI Group where he worked as a Buyer Supervisor from 1992 to 2020 and was currently employed as a Merchandise Sales Manager at Lowes in Niskayuna. Jim was a long-time member of the Dew-Drop-Inn hunting club. As a lifelong Hunting and Fishing enthusiast, Jim volunteered for many years as a master sportsman education instructor for the NYS DEC. Jim was wholeheartedly devoted to his family and a lifelong fan of the NY Yankees, and his beloved Green Bay Packers. Jim is survived by his wife of 37 years, Amy E. Picard, and their twin children, Vincent J. Picard, and Kristy A. (Ben) Picard-Kerscher. He is also survived by his two sisters Lori (David) Wayand, Amy (Mark) Langevin and two brothers, Joseph (Theresa) Picard and Michael (Amanda) Picard, his Mother-in-Law, Phyllis McDonald and several Nieces and Nephews. Jim will always be remembered for his kind smile, warm heart, and his willingness to always help others. Following the example of his best friend and mentor, the late Terry Wetmiller, Jim donated his body to the Albany Medical College Anatomical Gift Program. A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated at 10 am, Friday October 27, 2023, at St. Mary's Church, Cresent. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to Ibi Semper Training Inc, 25 Dublin Dr. Niskayuna NY 12309, a Charity that Jim, Amy, and their Service Dog Jacks worked closely with, where service dogs are trained for Veterans and First responders with PTSD.
