Obituary of Arthur D Hayner

Arthur "Art" Hayner age 86
Art was the son of the late Everett and Charlotte Hayner. Pre-deceased by two sisters Mary Kiley and Millie Lee, Sister-in-law Sue Hayner, Brothers-in-law Matt Kiley, John Lee, and John Hadigan.
Art was proud to say he was a member of the first graduating class of Shenendehowa High School in 1954, with 29 students. Art took part in many sports, first playing Semi-pro Baseball with the Farmer's League. He coached Little League and Connie Mack, and later became an umpire for Capital District High School and College girls' softball. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf with his friends and relatives, and bowled in many leagues. Art enjoyed Round and Square Dancing, as well as Polka Dancing.
He enjoyed traveling and stopping at many casinos. Art was a member of the American Legion Post #1450, the Clifton Park Elks, and the Halfmoon Senior Citizens. He worked at Buell Printing for 44 years and for the Town of Halfmoon Senior Express for 17 years. Art also served as a Master Sgt. in the NYS Army National Guard for 31 years.
Survived by his wife Gale Robbins Hayner of 62 years, two children Glenn and Dianne Hayner, A special Grandson, Ryan Hayner.
Two Brothers Ellis "Nick" (Stasia) Hayner and Willis (Jay) Hayner and a sister, Carol Hadigan, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Calling Hours Monday October 9, 2023, 3pm to 7pm at the Catricala Funeral Home, Inc. 1597 Route 9 Clifton Park. Service Tuesday afternoon at 1pm, and Burial with military honors will be 2:30pm at the B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
