Obituary of William J. Uber

William J. Uber, age 71 of Halfmoon passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 16, 2022. Born on September 20, 1950, in the Town of Halfmoon, he was the son of Katherine (Betty née Hatlee) and Lester Colvin and the late Frank Uber. He was predeceased by his sister Debra.

 

William served in the US Air Force from 1970 to 1974. He started his career in the laboratory at St. Peter’s Hospital where he worked for over 20 years. He then worked for the Shenendehowa CSD transportation department where he drove school busses, as well as taught new drivers. He filled his summertime away from school with the Town of Halfmoon’s recreation program. He loved spending time with family, trips to Maine, cooking, visiting museums, and attending live theatre.

 

In addition to his parents Betty and Les Colvin, he is survived by his wife Vickie Uber, son Bryan (Katrina) Uber, daughter Stephanie (Kevin Roehr) Uber, and his siblings Sandra (Bill), Daniel (Debbie), David (Nancy), Randy (Pati) and Shari (Mark). He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Wyatt and Athena Roehr, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, May 22 from 12 to 4 p.m. at the West Crescent Fire House, 1440 Crescent Rd, in Halfmoon.

 

Donations may be made in his memory to the West Crescent Fire Dept., 1440 Crescent Rd, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
