Obituary of Patricia Hinterberger

Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mom was gifted a peaceful passage into God’s arms on the 10th of May, 2022 at the wonderful age of 94. Born in Buffalo to Edward and Anne (McMahon) Perry and her beloved siblings; Mae, Ed, Eugene, Joan, Rose, Nelson, Fran, James, Jack, Bob, Anna, and Ursula.

Her formative years were spent in Buffalo. She was a proud graduate of the Sacred Heart Academy and a member of the Third Order of Saint Francis. She remained a devout Catholic throughout her life.  Her love of music allowed her to be surrounded by family and friends singing around the piano while she played at their gatherings. She worked for the New York Telephone Co., where she met and married Dad, Joseph F. Hinterberger (deceased). Their love gave bloom to 7 children, Frank, Mary, Anne, Beth, Kathleen, Eileen and Joe. Reluctantly-leaving best friends and family behind, they moved to Clifton Park in 1965. While getting settled in their new area (which was called home for 20 years), Mom and her friend Mary Rowe went to the Bishop stating that the area needed its own parish for faithful followers - thus St. Edward’s was initiated. Fun and fellowship in Clifton Knolls was the name of the game. Upon retiring, Mom and Dad moved and enjoyed over 30 years of life by the sea in Murrells Inlet, SC. She continued to practice her faith, teach CCD at the small but growing St. Michael's in Garden City, SC, and welcome friends to their door.

Once again, (after Dad and Mary’s passing), it was time to come back to Clifton Park area and to St. Edward’s Parish.  There she was comforted by being closer to her now 6 children, 20 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. A great cast of loving caregivers and close friends nearby made mom’s time again here a happy one in her latter years. The loving Community at Brookdale East Niskayuna was later called home for a time to give Mom independence during this time dealing with progressive dementia.

Mom enjoyed life in style and always loved to dine out to entertain waitstaff and anyone who was in earshot of her lively personality- she found new friends everywhere.

She will be missed by those who had the opportunity to know her and call her "friend". She loved deeply, shared easily, volunteered constantly, and lived life to the fullest.

Well done good and faithful servant.
