I did not know Brandon, having only met he and Patricia briefly this year, however our daughter Danielle was on the Shen Alpine team with him. Danielle valued her friendship with Brandon and always commented on what a helpful team player he was. He was always willing to lend a hand and epitomized team spirit. I didn't know Brandon for long, 3 or 4 months at most. He was a very nice person, always laughing and joking. He was also very helpful. I was complaining about how our coach never actually coached us and he ran me through some drills. He had a smile that could light up a room and the whole world has gotten a little bit darker with him gone from it. I give you my sincerest condolences. He was a great young man, and will be missed

Back in elementary school my brother and I would often bike over and play with Brandon and his brother. I remember looking forward to hanging out with him because he would make everything fun. i’m in complete shock to think of him ever gone. I dont know how else to put the words together other than brandon was genuinely the sweetest person you could encounter, he always cared about you even when you yourself wouldn’t. I can still hear his laugh even tho it feels like so long ago. If there’s one thing anyone should know about this boy, it’s that you were cared for if he knew you. rest in peace I will miss and remember the times we laughed together and those moments will never be replaced.

Brandon taught me a lesson about self-love at a very young age. This is a lesson that kids our age and even adults are still learning. I remember in elementary school I used to have tiny dreadlocks that I really liked. However, I had to cut them because when I was going to get them re-twisted, the salon that I went to was full of girls. This doesn’t seem like it’s a big deal but when I was little I remember feeling embarrassed to stand out and be the only boy in the salon. I wasn’t confident enough. So instead, my dad took me home and cut my hair. I had a buzz cut for a while and I was really embarrassed to walk around without a hat on. The thing I remember most about Brandon is him telling me not to care about what people may think of me and that he thought I looked better without the locs,(which was the first time I heard that). He told me I had to be confident. Confident enough to step out the house and not worry about what people thought about me. He told me that everybody isn’t going to love you but loving yourself and the way you present yourself is more important than other peoples opinions. I remember this memory so vividly because I still think about the lesson every time I walk out the house. I often think to myself,”I don’t care what people think about me because I love myself enough the way I am.” This is a lesson everyone should be taught and I am beyond grateful that Brandon taught it to me . I wish he was with us today so I could thank him. Instead, every time I think to myself that I don’t fit in or people won’t like the shirt I’m wearing , I will think of Brandon and the lesson of self-love he taught me when we were 7. He will live forever in my mind and in my heart. Rest In Peace Brandon❤️
