Obituary of Joseph D. Gibson
Joseph DeWayne Gibson, age 75 of Ballston Lake passed away peacefully on Monday, October 4, 2021 with his children by his side. Born on October 16, 1945 in Milo Township, IL, he was the son of the late Dorothey Pearson. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years Gail K. Gibson, whom he lovingly cared for during her battle with dementia.
Joe spent much of his youth in Kentucky surrounded by extended family. After high school he joined the Marine Corps and was stationed in Seoul, Korea as an Embassy Guard. It was there he met the love of his life, Gail. They married on February 15, 1969 and eventually settled in St. Anthony, MN where they raised their two children, Keith and Melisa. After retirement he and Gail moved to Ballston Lake. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family. He was always a dedicated family man.
Joe is survived by his sister Sally Clopton, sister Wanda Kerrick, brother Thomas Gibson, sister Virginia Gibson, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his son Keith (Amy) Gibson and grandson Joshua, and his daughter Melisa (Justin) King and his grandchildren Genevieve and Henry.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to George, Brittney, Brody, and Cadence Gray – who always provided love and support to Joe and Gail.
Donations may be made in his memory to St. Joseph’s Indian School at stjo.org.
In Loving Memory
Joseph Gibson
