Obituary of Joan Frances Parker

Joan Frances Parker, age 89 of Halfmoon passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 28, 2021. Born on July 12, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances Parker. She was predeceased by her sister Betty Parker. Joan owned and operated Strawberry Lane Restaurant in Schenectady for many years before retiring. She had a love for cats and enjoyed sewing, adult coloring, puzzles and reading. She is survived by her caretaker, Jason Werner, her cousin Eileen McGuigan, good friends Ruth Horn, Heather Morrissey, and many others. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 31 at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Crescent. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the National Shrine of St. Jude Claretian Missionaries or the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
