Edna and I met one another later in life. We shared pleasant times together. A strong lady who I found had a playful spirit. We shared our love for flowers and gardening. Enjoyed going to lunch together. I especially appreciated her sharing with me memories of her youth in Brazil and her efforts to emigrate to the US. That as a single woman to me takes a great deal of backbone. I admired her. Our visits ended when she moved away to be closer to her children. A good thing. Her memories will always be in my heart. Sweet lady.

I loved Edna. As a care giver to her for the past year she was always full of smiles and cheer. Loved reading whatever magazine was in front of her. She was always a joy to see! I am truly devastated and I am going to really miss her.

Grandma (Vovó) was the kindest soul I’ve ever met. As one of my family members once said “She was created because God must’ve had a shortage of angels.” She gave her kindness, prayers, and love to everyone she ever met. She was devout to her family, friends, and to the Lord. It is no question that she is flying high as we speak. My favorite memory of Vovó was when I was little and went to visit her, she would take me into the kitchen and get the M&Ms she hid on top of the fridge and we would secretly eat them in the basement without my parents knowing. We would eat them as we watched Sesame Street on repeat and did 1,000-piece puzzles, which always revealed her patience and intelligence. She will always be my inspiration and will be dearly missed. God gained the greatest angel yesterday.
