Here's a clip from one of Margie's anecdotal entertainments that she regularly emailed to family and friends from one of their New Orleans jaunts that they enjoyed so much together. If anything could sum up Richie's character, this is it. I can picture the scene . . .
Dad (Bill,Rich) went to one of the parades with me. We wiggled ourselves into a place where we had a pretty good view of the parades coming down the street. After being konked in the head with one too many strings of beads he decided to find a place to sit and avoid any more flying beads.
A kind and loving human was/is he.

Thank you Richie for the quality you have to express or "say what you think". It's something I've always admired about you and welcomed!. You are the classic Richie! You are truly loved and will surely be missed. Love to Margie, Sim, Damon, Jackie and Amanda.

Things i learned from Bill:
At the garages sale: if you don’t think it’s worth that, then you don’t want/need it.
Parenting: always have a place where your kids can return to
Try something new always.
Being obnoxious is often kind
A cup of tea is perfect after a run, no matter how hot you are
Don’t bother with wine that tastes bad, no matter how expensive, there are often good bottles of wine hiding behind low price tags.
I’ll miss you even though i haven’t seen you forever. You would always welcome me as if you had seen me just yesterday.
XO Perky

Bills wit will be missed at our monthly society meetings. Bill taught us all about the pleasure of good Wine tasting. We had many fun evenings tasting and discussing the world in general. I also have fond memories of the crazy poker games way back in the 80’s. Farewell friend and have one with Paul for the Roundlake Wine Society

Ah Rich, so your time on this earth is over; so glad you were surrounded with love as you passed, as you have been loved throughout your life by so very many. Thank you for all the fun times, including the time in the early 60’s when we stayed at a hippie commune somewhere in New England...our accommodations were in an old, very old, musty, broken down mini travel trailer! Thanks for helping to support me through my undergraduate time at Rutgers, and many other generous offers of support during my early, somewhat rocky 20’s. You were a dear and valued friend always, a great bridge and Pinochle player/opponent and brilliant trivia aficionado. Always interesting, always loved, always ready to share a meal or a drink. You will be missed greatly. I’m looking forward to sharing many more stories with the family when we next get together.

Always in our memory will be Rich’s kindness and helpfulness throughout the 54 years of our acquaintance. We especially look fondly back on the many wonderful trips that we shared, particularly our East African safari (see the right-out-of-the- seventies dashiki photo), our Indonesian adventure and our sailing adventure around the Caribbean. Richard W. Morrell was large presence in our lives who will be greatly missed.

Ah Bill. My greatest regret is that I didn’t get to say goodbye but I know you would have hated that. I remember fondly your amazing generosity and joy in sharing the places you loved. Puerto Rico, New Orleans and your home in Round Lake. I’ll never forget the trip the four of us made to go bird watching in the Adirondacks. The work you did to improve the library’s finances is a gift of your talent which allows us to make strides to improve the Clark House and I hope we do you proud. Rest well my friend.

As I am laboriously scrubbing old plaster off of an old brick chimney in my kitchen, sweaty, wet and covered with plaster and grime all I can hear is Bill standing in the background saying " you know Mike you can pay someone to to do that". I know Bill I know.
You will be missed my friend
