Alfred O. Mincher, age 98 of West Crescent passed away peacefully on December 30, 2018. Born in 1920, he was the son of the late James and Anna Mincher. He was predeceased by his siblings Hazel, Mary Ann, Ruth, Thelma, and James.

Alfred served 4 years in the US Army in Europe during WWII. He worked for over 40 years at GE in Schenectady, retiring as a general manager in the Turbine Division. Alfred was a member of the Amity Reformed Church in Vischer Ferry. As a 32nd degree Mason he held offices in all branches of the Masonic Lodges. He was a member of the Halfmoon Historical Society, VFW, and American Legion. He enjoyed bowling, card playing, and volunteering for community services. He used his carpentry skills to build and donate a Christmas Creche to the city of Cohoes for a yearly display. He was also active at the United Church of Cohoes.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years; Mildred Jennings Mincher, sons Richard (Susan) Mincher, and Scott (Kim) Mincher, daughters Linda (Harry) Towner, and Carol (Steven) Schlicting, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
