Obituary of Nancy C. Glover
Nancy C. Glover passed peacefully August 6th, 2018, surrounded by her family, after a two-year battle with Leukemia. Born November 29th, 1948 in Potsdam, NY to the late John and Beatrice Baker, she was the oldest of seven siblings. A graduate of Johnstown High School in 1966, she received a Bachelors in Studio Art from SUNY Oneonta, and a Masters of Communication from SUNY Albany. She was a devoted K-8 art teacher in the Wynantskill School District, where she spent over 30 years instilling a love of art and creativity in her students. Nancy was an avid member of the American Sewing Guild, several quilting associations, a regular participant in many local art shows, and a regular volunteer at the Brookside Museum in Ballston Spa.
Along with her artistic pursuits, quilting and knitting, Nancy enjoyed reading, traveling and long walks through Kinns Road Park with the family’s cherished chocolate lab, Mocha. Nancy was a talented, strong, funny woman with a unique sense of humor; qualities that remained constant sources of joy even during the challenges of her illness. She had no regrets and was proud of the full life she lived.
Nancy is survived by her devoted husband Patrick and children Amanda Glover and James Glover, who both carry on her artistic legacy in the fields of fashion design, architecture, and art education. She will be missed by her younger sisters Cathy (Greg) Drew, Kristin Sands, Patricia (Tim) Farley, and Joan (Terry) Cornett, as well as her sister in law Barbara Reutemann. She was predeceased by her brothers Gregory Baker and John Baker. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews in the United States and Canada.
