Obituary of Mary A. Bonesteel

Mary A. Bonesteel of Halfmoon passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Gateway House of Peace in Ballston Spa. Born on January 18, 1935 in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Francis “Pat” and Lillian Kane. She was predeceased by her husband and best friend of over 40 years, Frederick T. Bonesteel, and her great-grandson Brandon Pecore.

 

Mary worked for the NY Telephone Co. for over 30 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Clifton Parks Elks Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid NFL football fan, with the NY Giants as her favorite team.

 

She is survived by her children Michael (Dianna) Bonesteel and Kathleen (Kenneth) Dougherty, grandchildren Cheryl (Chris) Pecore, Nichole (Michael) Wilt, Kristopher Dougherty, and Daniel Bonesteel, and great-grandchildren Emilie and Christopher Pecore.

 

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a funeral mass on Saturday at 9 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church in Round Lake. Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery at a later date.

 

The family would like to thank the Gateway House of Peace along with her nurse and friend Barb from Community Care Physicians for the excellent care they provided to Mary.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gateway House of Peace, 479 Rowland St., Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
