Obituary of Nicholas A. DeMarco, Jr.

Nicholas A. DeMarco, Jr., age 68 of Clifton Park passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 17, 1949, in Malden, MA, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Angie DeMarco.

Nicholas was employed as a Senior Designer for General Electric in Lynn, MA, where he was the president of the local drafting union. Upon moving to Clifton Park in 1991, he continued at General Electric in Schenectady as a Project Manager, retiring in 2005. Upon retirement, Nicholas worked as a Clifton Park Public Safety Officer. He was an active member of the Clifton Park/Halfmoon Fire Dept. and was a member of the Shenendehowa Senior Center Financial Club. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years; Laurie DeMarco, sons Nicholas DeMarco, III, and David DeMarco, daughters Lalena DeMarco and Diana (Michael) Guido, sister Marie Hunt, his brothers John (Pam) DeMarco and Stephen DeMarco, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Albany Medical Center and the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital for all of the excellent care they provided Nicholas.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m., with a funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9 in Clifton Park. Burial will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna.
