Obituary of Frederick E. Smith

Frederick E. Smith, age 70 of Halfmoon passed away peacefully on Thursday January 25, 2018. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Frederick and Florence Smith.

Frederick graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and received his Associates Degree in Accounting from Fulton Montgomery Community College. He retired from the NYS Comptrollers Office after 38 years. He loved to travel, play poker, horse racing in Saratoga, and was an avid fan of the Yankees.

He is survived by his loving wife Jamie Pipino Smith, mother-in-law Lucy Pipino, brothers-in-law Henry and Ralph Pipino, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m., with a service at 11 a.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, in Clifton Park, Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an organization of one’s choice.
