Dear Kevin, Noel, Mr. and Mrs. Cronin, Mr. and Mrs. Putnam, Hunter's aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and Shannon,
I will always remember the joy Hunter brought to Homeroom in 9th grade. I am grateful to have been his English tutor that year. Hunter embodied one of the qualities that my late mother said was her sign of integrity in a young person--his comfort, ease, and respect in speaking with young and old alike. I wore a tie-dye to school today in memory and honor of Hunter, and I am learning to hunt this fall.
My heart goes out to you all, and I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Although I did not know Hunter, I was deeply saddened to hear of another young wonderful loss to the 518 Shen Community. My son is a 2013 graduate of Shen and knew your son from one of the shop classes and told me how nice he was and that is what I have heard from all who knew him. Dear Hunter’s parents, family, and friends,
Please accept our deepest and heartfelt condolences. We are both shocked and saddened by what happened to Hunter and so sorry about your horrible loss. My son is a senior at Shen and he knew Hunter. This is a very hard time for my son and he is still in disbelief over Hunter’s tragic death. I did not have a privilege to meet Hunter personally but I am so grateful that my son has had a chance to know Hunter, who he will remember as a kind, warmhearted and caring person. I cannot even imagine how you feel by loosing your most precious child, especially just a few weeks before the graduation. To Hunter's Parents, Family, and Friends,
I can't imagine that there is any deeper grief,or pain, than the loss of a child.
My heart breaks for all of you who know, and love, Hunter. I am the mother of 3 children, two of whom are Shen students. My one son, a fellow senior, told me he saw Hunter on most school mornings, usually just to say hello in passing.
In reading about him, what a blessing to all of you..., family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, as well as his Shen, and home communities, to have known such a lovely young man. How proud you all must be of what an outstanding individual he was.

I had the privilege of teaching Hunter last year in my U.S. History class and being someone who also loves the outdoors, I enjoyed hearing about Hunter and Ed Berry's hunting and fishing adventures. My son Brandon was very good friends with Hunter.I cannot begin to tell you how sorry we are for your loss.Brandon was very lucky to have been able to call Hunter his friend and spend time snowboarding and playing paintball with him on the shock wave team.I had a few occasions on which I met Hunter and he always had a smile and was willing to lend a hand with gear if needed
