Edward J. McCormick, age 74 of Schenectady passed away at his home on Friday, October 20, 2017. Born in 1943 in New Haven, CT, he was the son of the late Clarence and Catherine McCormick. He was predeceased by his brother John McCormick.

Ed spent his early life in Saranac Lake before leaving to serve in the US Army. He worked as a bus driver and transportation shop steward for the Shenendehowa School District for over 30 years, and was an assistant technology teacher at Shen. He volunteered in the Honor Guard of the Saratoga National Cemetery and retired from the NY Army National Guard in 2004.

He is survived by his son Edward J. McCormick, II, daughter Shannon McCormick, granddaughter Charlotte Handford, and his siblings Maureen (Charles) Corbin, Jim (Denise) McCormick, and Clarence McCormick.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a funeral service on Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Saratoga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Veterans Miracle Center, 10 Interstate Ave, Albany, NY 12205.
