Obituary of Edward J. Decker, Sr.

Edward J. Decker, Sr., age 96 of Halfmoon passed away peacefully into the hands of the Lord on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga. He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis E. Decker and his daughter Carol Delessio.

Edward served in the US Army and worked as an electrician for General Electric. Following his retirement in 1983, he worked for Shenendehowa Central Schools.  He enjoyed skiing, swimming, traveling, and playing tennis and bingo.

He survived by his daughters Linda Jacobs, and Janet (Donald) Beigler, son Edward (Gail) Decker Jr., 9 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a memorial mass Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edward’s Church in Clifton Park. Burial with military honors will follow in the Saratoga National Cemetery.
