Obituary of Karin H. Swartz

Karin H. Swartz, age 73 of Clifton Park passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017. Born in 1943 in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Heinz and Ellen Allfarth. She was predeceased by her brother Wolfgang Allfarth.

Karin was raised in Germany and worked as a stewardess for Lufthansa before immigrating to the US when she was 23. She earned her Master’s at St. Rose and worked as an English teacher in Albany. She last worked as a research analyst for NYS Office of Medicaid Management.She donated much of her time to help children in Africa through The Giving Circle foundation. She was very proud of her garden at home, and loved to collect antiques.

She is survived by her daughter Stephanie (Scott Kerr) Miller, sons Andrew Swartz, and Kyle (Marcy) Swartz, grandchildren Angela, Stacy (Andrew), Joshua, and Austin, and great-grandchildren Maddie and Brandon

Calling hours will be held on Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a memorial service at 7 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park.
