Dear Gay and Family,
My Dad just shared with us the news of Jim's passing. We are so sorry for your loss... our prayers are with you during this very difficult time.
Matt and I have always enjoyed seeing you both during our visits to see our Dad in Jupiter, FL... it is such a special place filled with wonderful people, like you both. We especially loved the days when Jim entertained everyone with his spectacular voice and great energy at the Tiki Bar!
You are in our thoughts...
With Love,
Abby (Gallo) Lechner

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Jim was one of my favorite teachers. He was encouraging, kind and fun. He believed in me and always made me feel like I was an important part of the team. I have so many fond memories of Jim and my time with him as part of chorus and the musicals.

Finding comfort in memories of happier times . Sunday dinners and holidays in Indian Orchard and summer vacations at Cape Cod and Peaks Island : Mom and Dad; you with Chrissie , Patti, and Mark; Joan and Dick with Cherie and Sandy ; and me with Lisa . Such fun times filled with music laughter and love. So sad that it had to end too soon. I've missed you brother. Rest in peace Jim.
Your Sister,
Linda

Jim: You were a good and much loved big brother and we will certainly miss you. We will always remember the great family times we shared on Cape Cod, Peaks Island and of course Indian Orchard. You were the life of many of those good times, and a key member of the family. It was regretful that we became distanced. We Will remain here on earth with our memories, and with the knowledge that Heavens Choirs will improve with your presence.
Your sister Joan and brother in law Dick

From Doug Bennett; on behalf of the Bennett's, I being the last Bennett standing who knew and loved Jim Cole.
Jim Cole was our friend, he had that easy going manner that made him a great teacher and a person you were going to be friends with. I remember many good times over at the old house in Burnt Hills. Jim could hold his own in a life of the party contest, he was funny, talented and a genuinely nice person.
I can't help but feel that the world is a lot less today without him. Like my father, he is a man I will always expect to see around the corner. That is the nature of being iconic in my book. He is in good hands now, he's with Dad, Mom, Andy and Walt. Heaven will never be boring! I guess when I do see them around the corner it will be my turn to join the old crew!
To Gay: My heart felt sorrow at Jim's passing. I know that there are no words that can make any of this easier; rest assured he will never be forgotten.
God bless this great man and his family.
Sincerely: Doug Bennett The Last Bennett Standing who knew and loved Jim Cole.

I was so saddened to hear of Mr. Cole's passing. I was in his Music Theory class in the late '70s, and can say that he was one of my favorite teachers in high school. He just had a way of relating to teenagers with sternness, compassion & respect. I always felt that I could go to Mr. Cole for counseling on issues not related to school, and his door was always open. He was a man of dignity & integrity, and also had a wonderful sense of humor! I will miss him.....

Mr. Cole directed me in the 1983 BH-BL production of Damn Yankees. He was kind and gentle with us -- but he also knew how to get the best performances possible out of his young cast. Just looking at his bio, I feel really grateful to have had the opportunity to be mentored by a man who devoted his life to the arts.

My condolences to Gay and the entire Cole family. Today I take time to remember Jim as I knew him from our common history at BHBL and the musical productions he directed. It might have been The Music Man play when we first met many years ago.
There were good memories too at the ol' Bumstead with the Bennetts. Rest In Peace Jim and God Bless.

I'm so very sorry to hear this sad news. Mr. Cole was my chorus director at BHBL in the early 80s. He encouraged me and grew my confidence. He was certainly one of my favorite teachers and my memories of him have always been and will continue to be some of my very best from that time. Praying for comfort and healing for your hurting hearts, and peace and wisdom as you move forward from here.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Mr. Cole was my chorus director at Burnt Hills High School. He was an amazing director, giving us challenging pieces to perform and never doubting that what we were capable of doing. He was one of those teachers that left an impact on every student he had an opportunity to work with. Prayers to you and your family at this difficult time.
