Obituary of Barbara A. Simmons

Barbara A. Simmons, age 78 of Halfmoon passed away on Wednesday October 28, 2015. Born on November 27, 1936 in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Anne Brisee. She was predeceased by her grandson Brandon Jones. Barbara worked for the Town of Halfmoon as a clerical worker, primarily in the building and assessor’s office. She was a charter and active member of the Halfmoon VFW post, and was active in the Clifton Park/Halfmoon After the Fire Program. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church, and most recently enjoyed playing games with the Clifton Park Senior Center. She also volunteered making Yellow Ribbons for veterans. She is survived by her daughters Terry (Don Neubauer) Jones and Crystal (Brian) Hicks, sister Catherine Kinash, brother Edward Butler, companion Michael Jones, grandchildren Cassandra Koch, Robert Jones Jr., and Brian Jones, and great-grandchildren Emma Rose Jones, Chloe Koch, and Remington Jones. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 4 p.m. at the Temple Baptist Church, 142 Lower Newtown Rd. in Halfmoon.
