Harry J. Tegler, 74, of Queensbury, passed away at home on Thursday, July 9, 2015, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Albany, to the late Harry J. Tegler and Harriett Morton Malone.
Harry was raised in South Troy and graduated from LaSalle Institute. He retired from the Ford Motor Company as Plant Superintendent with 30 years of service, having received numerous awards for innovative suggestions over the years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Moynihan Tegler, daughters Debra Rietmann (Craig), Wendy Doerr, and Kristie Aussicker, son Eric Hoff (Michelle), and brothers Paul Tegler (Judy), Timothy Malone (Maryann), and Stephen Tegler (Kem), and sister Tammy Malone. He is also survived by grandchildren Kristen, Jeffrey, Katelyn, Michelle, Kelsey, Whitney, Mitchell, Karlie, Madison, and Brooke. He was a loving and generous husband who treasured the time spent with his children and grandchildren. He looked forward to hosting his weekly pool game with the neighbors and was always there when anyone needed his help. Diane and Harry spent their winters in New Symrna Beach and had a large circle of friends and fond memories. He was an avid fisherman and car enthusiast and looked forward to the Daytona 500 every year. Harry’s family would like to thank all of those who sent well wishes and prayers during this difficult time. They especially want to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Love and the staff at Irongate for their care and treatment.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 11 to 12:30 at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park. The family will be having a private memorial service.
