My mother, Peggy Jo, & I drove to central NY a few years ago to attend another DAR chapter's event which featured scholar & author, Mary Beth Norton. On the drive out we were little more than acquaintances, but by the time we returned to Saratoga, we were friends. Peggy Jo was generous with her time, & her advice. I will truly miss her.

Words can't express my sorrow at the passing of such a vibrant and caring woman. When you were in Peggy's presence you felt that she was totally focused on you. Peggy Jo did everything just right...She cared for others and shared her knowledge with a warm smile and that sense of humor. It was her DAR style. She set the bar high and who wouldn't want to reach up to be by her side? I am honored to have had the privilege of being her friend. She was a class act. We often carpooled to DAR events and basically giggled the whole way. Once when Pegy was driving in Manhattan, I told her to take a right and the cop stopped us because it was after 4 pm. He asked who we liked in the subway series and said our answer would determine whether or not she'd be ticketed. She looked at me with those enormous blue eyes and asked what she should say. We had such laughs over it.
she was fun, caring, calm in the roughest of times, a hard worker and such a loving person, one couldn't help but want to be around her.
Love and hugs to the whole family. she'll be so missed!
