Obituary
Obituary of Joseph E. Landor
Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Cohoes, NY – Joseph E. Landor, 72, of Cohoes, NY, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 29, 2025 with his family by his side.
Joseph was born in Troy, NY in 1952, the middle child of the late Andrew R. and Helen A. (Ceremuga) Landor. He was also predeceased by his younger brother: Andrew R. Landor, Jr.
Following high school, Joseph enrolled in Albany Business School, where he earned his Associates Degree. He worked for 30 years for Price Chopper, working his way up to being the Assistant Grocery Manager. A very industrious man, Joseph also worked part time for Loomis Armored Car, and spent 15 years working as a custodian for Cohoes City Schools.
When Joe wasn't at work he spent time with his dogs at home, which he loved more than anything. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycles, listening to polka music, golfing, and bowling, especially enjoying his memberships with the American Legion Post 1450 Halfmoon Bowling League, and the Cohoes-Waterford Elks Lodge 1317. He loved spending weekends at the camp on Woodland Lake, and he especially loved his family trips to Florida. Joe was a very giving, generous person. He always made sure to check in with people, even if it was just to make sure everything was ok.
Joseph leaves behind his wife of 33 years: Margaret E. (Shaver) Landor; their two daughters: Jessica Lynn (Hayden M. Bauer) Landor, and Chelsea Marie (Matthew) Landor-Plew; a granddaughter due in August: Grayce AnnaMae Landor-Plew; his older brother: Michael Landor; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
A period of visitation for Joseph will be held from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Route 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065. A mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at St. Mary's of Crescent, 86 Church Hill Rd, Waterford, NY 12188. Burial will take place at St. Michael's Cemetery following the mass.
