Anthony (Tony) Vincent Andolina
January 23, 1927 – May 30, 2025
Anthony Vincent Andolina, 98, of Ballston Spa, NY, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025 at home with his family. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Tony lived a long and remarkable life marked by quiet strength, dry wit, and deep intellect. He met his life-long love, Marie, on a double date, and they married in 1953, building a life rooted in love, resilience, and family. He will be remembered for his humility, humor, and unwavering devotion to his loved ones.
Tony was born in 1927, to the late Charles and Phyllis (Cristina) Andolina of Fredonia, NY. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Kathryn Marie (Oliver) Andolina, and his son, Michael Anthony Andolina.
At the age of 16, Tony enrolled at Tri State College in Angola, IN to pursue an engineering degree. His education was paused when he enlisted in the Navy in WWII where he served his country with distinction aboard the aircraft carrier USS Leyte. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy at the end of the war, he returned to Tri State College to complete dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering. Tony accepted a teaching position at his beloved Tri State College, but felt that in order to be an effective educator, he should gain real world experience. Upon earning a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, he took a position as an engineer at Allegheny Ludlum Specialty Steel, in the Dunkirk, NY plant. He rose to head the Engineering, Maintenance and Environmental departments in the main Watervliet, NY operation, settling in Clifton Park, NY. He retired in 1986 and later, he and Marie moved in with son John and his wife Heidi and their family in Ballston Spa, NY. He remained active and independent well into his 90s
Anthony is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Marie Andolina, and her spouse Jeffrey A. Brody of East Falmouth, MA; their children Steven G. Brody of Medway, MA, Miriam S. Brody, her spouse Dan Jette, and great-grandson Owen Jette, all of East Falmouth, MA, Benjaman J. Brody and his spouse, Olivia Arnold of Jamaica Plain, MA. His son, Robert Charles Andolina, and his wife Laura (Call) Andolina of Ithaca, NY; their children Christopher R. Andolina and Callie M. Andolina. And his son, John Paul Andolina, and his wife Heidi (Robertson) Andolina of Ballston Spa, NY; their children Emily Andolina and her husband Jacob Van Vorst of Stamford, CT, Julie M.
