Obituary of Marilyn Robbie

Please share a memory of Marilyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marilyn "Mimi" Robbie, 81, of Ballston Spa, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025. Born in 1943 in Schenectady, New York, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Jewett) Kehoe. She was also predeceased by her beloved sisters, Carol "Moosie" Tinning and Maureen Lesniewski, and her cherished grandson, Jack McGuire. She was also a sister to Stephen Kehoe currently living in Massachusetts. Marilyn grew up on Becker Street in Schenectady and graduated from Linton High School. She later earned her degree from Mildred Elley. In 1967, she married the love of her life, Gordon Robbie, and together they built a beautiful family. Her children—Karen, Kristen, and Mike—were always her top priority. Marilyn found her greatest joy in being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a remarkable gift for bringing people together and went out of her way to make family gatherings memorable. Whether it was selecting the perfect gift or preparing meals that catered to everyone's tastes, her warmth and care made every occasion feel special. Holidays, especially Christmas, were magical because of her thoughtful touches, and her famous mac and cheese will be dearly missed at family events. A lifelong New York Yankees fan, Marilyn never missed watching a game. She found great joy boating on Lake George, spending summer weekends picnicking on the islands and sharing laughter with friends on B Dock—always with a glass of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay in hand. Marilyn's warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She loved playing cards (and often winning), was deeply patriotic with the American flag always displayed proudly, and found peace in tending her garden, sipping tea, and watching birds flutter around her feeders. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of nearly 58 years, Gordon Robbie; her children: Karen Robbie, Kristen (Timothy) McGuire, and Michael (Amber) Robbie; her seven grandchildren: Alexander, Zachary, and Madelyn Robbie-Johnston, Mac McGuire, Emily, Justin, and Addison Robbie; and her cherished chosen family, Louie and Donna Rendano, all whose lives will be forever changed by her absence. A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held on June 22, 2025 from 1-4 PM at the Blue Water Manor, 4436 Lake Shore Drive, Bolton Landing, NY 12814 including a tribute toast at 2:00 PM. Anyone who would like to share thoughts or memories is invited to do so. In honor of Marilyn's love for others, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) or the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
